Emperor of China was a grand, prestigious title, coveted by many both inside and outside the country.
But when it came to everyday life in the empire, the emperor had to deal with more mundane matters. Like brushing his teeth, sending his mother a card on her birthday, or scolding his dog for misbehaving.
And it was during those moments, not while the emperor was on the battlefield, that his true nature was revealed.
“And remember, no matter where you go, there you are.”
~ Confucius (possibly, although it’s really hard to tell what’s real on the Internet)
